From campus labs to freelance product work — a career grounded in craft, clarity, and shipping.
I’m Wilfred R., a Filipino web developer behind W8A (w8a.net). The name stands for Wilfred, Infinity (the 8), and April Lyn — my wife. It’s a personal mark for work built with care that lasts.
Since 2005, I’ve built and maintained web applications with vanilla PHP and modern frameworks, custom APIs, WordPress and Drupal, HubSpot, Shopify, and JavaScript stacks including React and Next.js.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Technology from the University of Southeastern Philippines and completed the academic requirements for a Master’s in Information Technology at the University of the Immaculate Conception. Earlier in my career, I taught computer courses at Surigao del Sur State University — Lianga Campus.
Today I work as a freelance web developer, partnering with clients on custom platforms, integrations (Zapier, Asana, ConnectWise), and CMS-driven experiences that stay maintainable long after launch.
